Tubeless Rim Protection
Running tubeless allows riders to use lower tyre pressures for improved grip and comfort. However, lower pressures also expose rims to impacts from rocks, roots, and sharp edges on the trail.
GNARLY inserts act as a protective barrier between your rim and tyre, helping prevent:

- Tyre burping under aggressive riding

More Traction and Tyre Stability
Lower tyre pressures improve traction, but dropping pressure too far can cause unwanted tyre squirm.
GNARLY inserts provide additional sidewall support, helping stabilise the tyre when running lower pressures. This improves grip while maintaining predictable handling and control.

Lightweight Performance

Typical weights (based on 29" wheels):
- Gnarly Grey – 84g
- Gnarly Blue – 92g
- Gnarly Black – 116g
For smaller wheel sizes such as 27.5", inserts will be even lighter.
GNARLY High Flow Tubeless Valve Included
During testing we found that some inserts can occasionally sit against the air port in standard tubeless valves, making inflation and deflation difficult.
We also discovered that some modern race sealants can clog smaller valve ports.
To solve this problem we designed the GNARLY High Flow Tubeless Valve, included with every insert.
These valves improve airflow, simplify installation, and ensure your tubeless system works reliably with inserts installed.
Super Easy DIY Installation
GNARLY inserts are designed to be simple to install.
If you can fit a tubeless tyre, installing a GNARLY insert will be easy. All you need is:
- A sharp knife
- Tubeless sealant
- Tyre levers (optional)
It's a one-beer job, so you’ll be back out riding in no time.

Size Options
GNARLY Rim Protectors are available in three sizes based on tyre width.

The inserts can be trimmed to fit 29", 27.5", and smaller wheel sizes, making them compatible with virtually any tubeless gravel or mountain bike setup.
